The Girl He Used to Know-

The Girl He Used to Know
Tracey Garvis Graves

New York Times bestselling author of On the Island!

I started reading this book and thought OK, just another romance and love story!

It was unique and very touching,

The story travels between the time Annika and Jonathan was in college and 10 years later which is 2001.

How they fell in love and had plans and their lives changed and their ways were separated. Which was nothing very much different with other usual love stories. The part that I enjoyed a lot was the current (2001) when I got to know more and more about Annika. This book has strong characters and the story gets more developed towards the end.

Love can change one's life. Love, will make people forget about themselves and love, will make one strong.

It was the Jonathan's love that made Annika strong to drive alone to find him. That strength gave her confidence and forced her to be independent.

Amazing book.

American Princess-

American Princess
Stephanie Marie Thornton

A Novel of First Daughter Alice Roosevelt!

A pleasing Historical Fiction portraying Alice Roosevelt, I knew nothing of her and reading this book was like finding a new friend which I share lots of similar stories of success and great mistakes and adventure with.
There is unique and profoundly touching means in Stephanie Thornton’s portrayal of Alice Roosevelt and her love hate relationship with Eleanor Roosevelt.

The story is so detailed as if Alice has written her memoir. And my favorite part was when her father said:” Don’t ask questions. Just accept the gist”

Calendar Girl-

Calendar Girl
by Georgia Beers

Calendar girl is my first book from Georgia Beers. It is a well written book. Simply emotional, romantic and encouraging.

Kate is back home to help her mum while her dad getting weak with dementia. To help with financial situation her parents are struggling with because of her dad’s medical expenses. This is when she is being offered with a part-time job as an assistant.
The offer is very strong and she accepts it because not only it is a very well paid, flexible job but it is also in the same direction as her college degree. What she is not excepting are the challenges and what I really liked was the face that she didn’t give and held her ground to achieve what she worked hard for.

A work place romance between an amiable character and a workaholic! The ending however, was a bit rushed. That is the only thing that I wish was a bit less abrupt.

My One and Only Duke-

My One and Only Duke
 Grace Burrowes
" Smart,sexy and oh-so romantic"
-Mary Balogh

Quinn Wenthworth a banker waiting to be executed Is being acknowledged as a missing heir to a dukedom.

As a favor when in prison he offers marriage to Jane Winston the pregnant widow in order to help her with the support of her child. Not knowing what their future is going to be.

A charming historical novel and as always Grace Burrowes astonished me with this book.
Right when Quinn is being executed, because he couldn’t prove his innocence he was cut down and Jane future changes since she is now married to a duke!

The gentle growing relationship between these two is very pleasant and yet the description is not over.

This book is an astonishing initiation of Grace Burrowes’s new series and it is selected to be heroic. Grace is very detailed oriented, and she visualized the places she writes about very well. The plots are carefully twisted to fulfill an uplifting historical tale.

Violet Ugly-

Violet Ugly
J.Lynn Bailey

A Granite Harbor Series Novel!

This was the first book I read by J.Lynn Bailey!! Have to admit, it was full of emotions. I loved how Merit and Eli was taking care of Ryan, and how he let go of the girl he loved, years ago when he was very young, just to let merit follow her dreams.

The story switches between its main characters and you can imagine the situation from different point of view. which is very exciting.

This book is an easy read I was able to connect with the characters and really see myself in the story.

Many Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for sending me a kindle edition to read and share my review.

Princess: Stepping out of the Shadows-

Princess: Stepping out of the Shadows
Jean Sasson

Joy and Sorrow in a Kingdom on the Threshold of Revolutionary Change!

Knowing this is a true story made it more exciting to me. Stories like this need to be told and heard every day.  I really enjoyed the way the writer was telling the story and at times I became emotional and felt like I was a character in the story.

It makes you sit and wonder what you can do to help other women in this situation. It is heartbreaking and yet show how brave these women are. I will read her other books; she has a very stylish way of narrating true stories.
