This is the first book in the Alex Carter mystery series. The story is set in Montana, except for the opening scene that took place in Boston when Alex followed her boyfriend to Boston.
As a wildlife biologist, Dr. Alex Carter accepts a job to study wolverines in Montana. This happened during the time that Alex and her boyfriend were taking a break in their relationship thus she accepts the opportunity and immediately moves to Montana. But she was not welcomed by the locals and troubles start almost as soon as she arrives and intensified quickly
The descriptions in this book were very well penned and deceptive, to the point that the readers think they are doing the research themselves. The story was captivating, shocking at point,s and intense. Alex has a very amiable character; she is strong and determined. And I always enjoy reading books with strong female characters.
I recommend it to those who enjoy suspense novels.
