Florence Adler Swims Forever
by Rachel Beanland
The story is about Florence
and Fannie, who spend their summers above their parent’s bakery. Fannie is
staying at the hospital to be supervised due to her high-risk pregnancy.
Gussie, Fannie's daughter, is pending the
summer with her aunt Florence and her grandparents, while her mother is at the
hospital. But a tragic event changes everything that's summer. We get to know
different characters and so many secrets through the story.
This is a beautifully
written novel. I could smell and hear the ocean reading this book. The
brilliant and glowing description of the landscape made the story more
appealing and tangible for me.
A perfectly constructed
story with normal and not perfect characters, just like all of us , who are not
always making the right decision.
The characters are complex
but relatable at the same time. The pace and plot are perfectly and strongly
written.
Knowing that this story is
based on a true story, made the story more interesting.
This is one of the best
books I have read this year and I recommend it to everyone.
