-The Worst Best Man

The Worst Best Man
by Mia Sosa

Lina who was left at the alter by her fiancé Andrew. She got the news through Andrew’s younger brother, Max. He received the title of the worst best man, when showed Andrews Mysterious text message stating Max is to blame for his Change of mind.

It’s now three years later and Lina is a successful and ambitious wedding planner. As a part of a lucrative business venture Lina reconnects with both Andrew and Max. She needs this job desperately and Max is going to be her partner on this project.

This is when enemies turn into lovers, the romance starts, and Lina and Max get together. The story went back and forth on Max and Lina. Each scene is described separately from each person’s perspective.

Max is in competition with his brother. It seems like he has always lived in his brother’s shadow and he thinks this is the time to prove himself. And Max has to decide if the fact that he is falling for his brother’s ex-fiancé, is going to affect his plan for making name for himself.

I enjoyed most of the humor, but in some instances, it fell flat. It is an ordinal romance and I really didn’t find anything very different or special.

It is a very easy read and funny to some extent. If you like a good mood book this would a good choice. The book starts on a high note with humor, but as it moves along it got caught in unnecessary detail.

On the things I didn’t like about this book is the dialog, some were unnatural and stilted. While reading, different plots/sets reminded me of similar stories and that is why I mentioned there was nothing special about the story. I wished there was more interaction between Max and Andrew as most of the story is around Lina and her family.

Many thanks to NetGalley and HarperCollins Publishers for the ARC.
